What is the role of the copper pipe of the air conditioner? Why do air conditioners use copper pipes?

1. The purpose of the special air-conditioning copper pipes and fittings for the connection between the outdoor unit and the indoor unit is to connect the indoor unit and the outdoor unit. The refrigerant (Freon, commonly known as refrigerant) passes through the connecting pipe. For example, in cooling mode (that is, in summer), the indoor unit absorbs the indoor heat (exhaust cold air), and after the refrigerant becomes a low-pressure medium-temperature refrigerant, it is sent to the outdoor unit through a larger copper pipe. You can touch the larger copper pipe with your hand and it will feel colder while having water on the surface.

2. The refrigerant exits the outdoor through the air-conditioning copper tube and is compressed by the compressor to become high temperature and high pressure refrigerant and enters the outdoor unit heat exchanger to release heat (the fan rotates). Then the refrigerant changes to medium temperature and medium pressure and enters the room through another copper pipe (the smaller one), and before entering the indoor unit, it passes through the throttle valve (with capillary copper pipe or expansion valve, etc.), which is used to cut off the throttle valve. The volume is very small, but after the throttle valve is passed, the volume suddenly increases, so the refrigerant will instantly become a low-temperature and low-pressure refrigerant, so it absorbs heat. This completes a refrigeration cycle. In the case of a heating cycle, the opposite is true. So you should understand the role of the two air-conditioning copper pipes.
